Pinellas County Initiates Mobile Home Replacement Program for Storm-Damaged Residences
Nearly two years after successive hurricanes caused significant damage across Pinellas County, Florida, a program designed to replace storm-damaged mobile homes at no cost to the owners is now actively underway. The Pinellas Recovers team has successfully demolished and replaced one mobile home, with four additional replacements currently in progress. Furthermore, 46 approved homes are in the pre-construction phase. This hurricane recovery effort is funded through federal disaster recovery dollars. Mackenzie Bergstrom, a grant coordinator with Pinellas County, emphasized that the program aims to provide residents with new homes capable of withstanding future hurricane seasons. The first replacement occurred in late June at the Palm Circle mobile home community for resident Richard Brill.
