Shaw University Divinity School to Offer Doctoral Degree in AI and Moral Agency
Shaw University, a historically significant institution in Raleigh, N.C., is set to launch a new doctoral program focusing on artificial intelligence and moral agency. This initiative, led by the university's divinity school, aims to explore the ethical implications of AI, particularly in vulnerable communities. The program, which will begin next year, has received approval from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and is seeking further accreditation. This degree is the first of its kind among theological schools in the U.S. and Canada. The program is designed for candidates with a master's degree in arts or divinity and at least five years of professional experience in fields like pastoral ministry or social work.
