The hearings, held in Pikeville and Hazard, revealed that many residents are seeking alternative heating sources or considering relocation due to the financial strain. Whitesburg, already recovering from severe flooding in 2022, faces additional challenges as residents feel their concerns are not being adequately addressed by leaders.
