New York State Allocates $40M for AI and Nuclear Energy Workforce Development
New York Governor Kathy Hochul has announced a $40 million investment to enhance the state's capabilities in artificial intelligence (AI) and nuclear energy. The funding, approved by the New York Power Authority, will be distributed over four years to technical high schools, community colleges, universities, and labor unions. The initiative aims to develop training programs in nuclear energy and AI, preparing workers for high-demand careers in these fields. Additionally, $4 million will be allocated to six state organizations and universities to focus on AI, electromechanical trades, and advanced power systems.
