State Rep. Dan Deasy Announces Over $3 Million in State Funding for Community Projects in Pennsylvania
State Rep. Dan Deasy, D-Allegheny, has announced that over $3 million in grant funding has been awarded to support various community projects across Pennsylvania's 27th Legislative District. The funding, approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), is derived from Local Share Account (LSA) funds, which are generated from tax dollars collected at Pennsylvania's casinos. The CFA, an independent agency under the state Department of Community and Economic Development, is responsible for administering Pennsylvania's economic stimulus programs. The grants will be allocated to a range of initiatives, including public safety enhancements for police and fire departments, critical infrastructure upgrades, and renovations for cultural venues and recreational spaces. Specific projects include $800,000 for a pumper fire truck for Pittsburgh’s Bureau of Fire, $650,000 for stormwater collection upgrades in Scott Township, and $500,000 for Phase 2 renovations of the Pittsburgh Musical Theater.
