Northeastern US Faces Dangerous Cold with Wind Chills of -20°F
An arctic blast has swept across the northeastern United States, bringing the coldest air of the season. According to AccuWeather, the region is experiencing dangerous wind chills as low as -20°F (-29°C). The cold front, originating from Canada, is affecting areas from New York City to Washington, DC. In New York City, temperatures are expected to reach around 20°F (-6°C), but wind chills will make it feel much colder, with 'real feel' temperatures between -5°F (-21°C) and -10°F (-23°C). The extreme cold poses a significant risk of frostbite and hypothermia, especially for those exposed to the elements for extended periods.
