Mysterious Fireball Over Europe Captivates Onlookers and Causes Damage
On March 8, a mysterious fireball streaked across the sky over Central Europe, captivating thousands of onlookers and causing damage to at least one home in Western Germany. The European Space Agency is investigating the event, which involved a meteorite creating a football-sized hole in a roof. The fireball was visible for about six seconds and was reported by over 3,000 eyewitnesses across several countries, including France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Scientists estimate the object was about ten feet across before breaking apart. The event highlights the unpredictable nature of such celestial occurrences and the challenges in detecting smaller space rocks before they enter Earth's atmosphere.
