Kushner and Witkoff Visit USS Abraham Lincoln Amid U.S.-Iran Tensions
President Trump's Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, visited the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier following discussions with Iran. The visit, facilitated by Adm. Brad Cooper of US Central Command, aimed to express gratitude to American service members stationed in the region. This visit underscores the ongoing military presence in the Middle East, despite recent re-engagement in negotiations with Iran. The U.S. military buildup has intensified as President Trump considers options for potential strikes against Iran, although no decisions have been finalized. During the visit, Witkoff and Kushner met with sailors and Marines, observed flight operations, and discussed a recent incident involving an Iranian drone. The visit followed indirect talks between U.S. and Iranian officials in Oman, mediated by Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi.
