Charlotte Man Arrested in Fatal Lincoln County Campground Shooting
Nakiyan Lamar Anderson, an 18-year-old from Charlotte, has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on August 23 at Tuckers Grove Campground in Iron Station, North Carolina. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest on Monday. Anderson was wanted on warrants for first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and assault on an individual with a disability. The incident, which took place during a disturbance at the campground, resulted in the death of 36-year-old Curtis Clayton Baxter III of Winston-Salem. Anderson was apprehended with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Carolina Regional Fugitive Task Force in Charlotte. He is currently being held without bond, and authorities have stated that the case remains under active investigation.
