New Zealand Convention Centre Opens, Boosting Auckland's Tourism and Economy
The New Zealand Convention Centre (NZICC) has officially opened in Auckland, marking a significant milestone for the city's business events and tourism sectors. The opening ceremony, led by Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, highlighted the centre's role in creating jobs, attracting international visitors, and supporting local businesses. The NZICC, designed by Warren and Mahoney, Moller Architects, and Woods Bagot, is a $750 million facility with 33 meeting spaces and a 2,850-seat theatre, capable of hosting over 4,000 delegates. It is expected to attract 33,000 international visitors annually, generating more than $90 million in new economic activity each year.
