Tuwaiq Sculpture 2026 Showcases Monumental Artworks in Riyadh, Enhancing Cultural Landscape
The Tuwaiq Sculpture 2026 exhibition in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is showcasing a collection of large-scale sculptures by 25 artists from 18 countries. The event, themed 'Traces of What Will Be,' reflects the city's rapid transformation and cultural evolution. The exhibition, which began on February 9, features works created during a live sculpting phase, allowing the public to witness the artistic process. The sculptures, crafted from materials like local stone and reclaimed metal, explore themes of memory, sustainability, and the human impact on natural and built environments. Notable works include 'Drops of Live' by Žilvinas Balkevičius, which uses Royal Gold granite and stainless-steel spheres to symbolize the connection between humans and nature, and 'Enriching Life' by Saudi artist Abdulhameed Ali Altukhaes, inspired by coral forms. The exhibition is curated by Lulwa Alhomoud, Sarah Staton, and Rut Blees Luxemburg, who emphasize public engagement through workshops and panels.
