Florida Faces Days of Heavy Rain and Flooding
Florida is facing several more days of heavy rain and thunderstorms as tropical moisture fuels repeated downpours across the state. Slow-moving storms could produce rainfall rates of 1–2 inches per hour, creating a daily flash-flood threat. By Thursday, a cutoff low is expected to move across Florida and toward the Gulf, keeping rain chances elevated through the weekend. Many areas could receive 3–5 inches by week’s end, with some of the highest totals around Naples and potentially Miami. Frequent lightning, gusty winds and reduced visibility will also pose hazards, while tropical development is now considered highly unlikely.
