Former Lincoln Veterans Hospital to Become Affordable Housing for Seniors and Veterans
A portion of the former Veterans Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska, is slated for redevelopment into 95 affordable housing units for seniors and veterans. The City of Lincoln announced its support for the $18 million Victory Park Hospital Rehabilitation Project, which will convert the historic building at 600 S. 70th St. into independent living spaces. The project is a collaboration between Burlington Capital Partners and the Seniors Foundation. The renovation work will include interior restoration, environmental abatement, and energy enhancements to modernize the facility while preserving its historic facade. The units will consist of 20 studio, 58 one-bedroom, 16 two-bedroom, and one three-bedroom apartments, with an average rent of $1,000 per month including utilities.
