Nigeria to Launch $1 Billion National Integrated Poultry Project
The Director General of the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership, Joseph Tegbe, announced the commencement of the $1 billion National Integrated Poultry Project's pilot phase. The project will initially be implemented in Enugu, Kaduna, and Oyo states, with plans to expand to other regions. It aims to produce six million eggs daily, house over seven million laying birds, and cultivate 60,000 hectares of maize and soybeans. The initiative is designed to enhance food security, create jobs, and provide subsidized feedstock to existing farmers. Tegbe also highlighted the revitalization of the Ajaokuta Steel Complex, which is expected to produce 10 million metric tonnes annually, further boosting Nigeria's industrial capacity.
