Missouri Officials Celebrate Completion of New St. Charles Road Bridge Over I-70
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for the new St. Charles Road bridge over I-70 in Columbia, Missouri. The event will take place on Monday morning, with state transportation officials and local dignitaries in attendance. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has announced that the ceremony will begin at 10:30 AM at mile marker 131 near EquipmentShare. The new bridge, which replaces an older structure built in 1957, is designed to accommodate six lanes of I-70 traffic and includes pedestrian crossings on both sides. The old bridge was demolished in April due to its inability to support the expanded highway. The new bridge is expected to open by Friday, August 14, weather permitting.
