Webster Woman Dies After SUV Runs Red Light, Collides with Tractor-Trailer in Hernando County
A 25-year-old Webster woman died in Hernando County, Florida, after her SUV ran a red light and collided with a tractor-trailer. The incident occurred on Saturday evening at approximately 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 98 and Kettering Road. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the woman was driving a Jeep Cherokee eastbound on U.S. 98. The tractor-trailer, driven by a 53-year-old St. Petersburg man, was traveling northbound on Kettering Road and entered the intersection on a green traffic signal. The Jeep then entered the intersection against a red light, resulting in a collision where the SUV became wedged underneath the truck. The woman was transported to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not reported to have sustained any injuries.
