Six San Jose Residents Arrested After High-Speed Police Chase in Santa Cruz Injures Officer
Six residents from San Jose, including two adults and four juveniles, were arrested last weekend following a high-speed police chase that began in Santa Cruz and resulted in an officer being injured. The incident started when Santa Cruz police responded to reports of a hit-and-run involving a black 2015 Mercedes SUV, later identified as stolen from San Jose. Multiple 911 callers reported the driver operating recklessly, crashing into other vehicles, and engaging in dangerous behaviors. An officer attempting to stop the SUV was struck, sustaining moderate injuries and disabling their vehicle. A subsequent pursuit, involving the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office and spike strips, led to the SUV stopping north of Ocean Street.
