Danone Expands Infant Formula Recalls in UK and Ireland Amid Contamination Concerns
Danone SA has expanded its recall of infant formula products in the UK, Ireland, and several other European countries due to potential contamination with the toxin cereulide. The recall affects certain batches of Aptamil, Cow & Gate, and Nutrilon brands. This follows earlier recalls in Austria, Germany, France, and Switzerland. The contamination is linked to arachidonic acid oil, sourced from China's Cabio Biotech Wuhan Co. The recalls are precautionary, following new toxin guidance from Irish food safety authorities. Danone has implemented additional ingredient controls to address the issue.
