Former Ridglan Farms Beagles Reunite in Madison, Advocates Push for End to Animal Testing
Months after thousands of beagles were transferred out of Ridglan Farms, a breeding and research facility in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin, many of the dogs reunited with their adoptive families, volunteers, and animal advocates at The Boneyard in Madison. The event, dubbed the 'Ridglan Reunion,' provided an opportunity for those involved in the extensive transfer effort to reconnect and observe how the beagles are adapting to life outside the facility. Over 2,000 beagles were moved from Ridglan Farms between May and August. Emily Anderson, co-founder of Valley Cats Rescue, highlighted the reunion as a testament to the collective efforts of countless individuals who advocated for the dogs' placement in loving homes. U.S. Rep. Mark Pocan and animal-rights attorney Wayne Hsiung also attended, with Hsiung reflecting on the significant community support that ultimately ensured the dogs' release.
