Tornadoes Cause Injuries and Temporary Closure of Vance Air Force Base in Oklahoma
Powerful tornadoes swept through Oklahoma, injuring at least ten people and causing widespread damage. The severe weather system also affected Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska, producing large hail and high winds. Vance Air Force Base, a major training installation, was temporarily closed due to extensive damage and utility outages. Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt has pledged state resources to assist with recovery efforts. The tornado outbreak is part of a volatile spring pattern that has brought repeated rounds of severe weather to the region.
