Flooding in New Mexico as Hurricane Polo Fuels Threat
New Mexico is experiencing widespread flooding due to moisture from Hurricane Polo, which is hundreds of miles away in the Pacific. The state remains under a Flood Watch as heavy rain continues to impact the region. Rescue operations have been conducted in Albuquerque and Mora County, where first responders saved individuals from stranded vehicles and dangerous floodwaters. Albuquerque Fire Rescue reported incidents in low-lying arroyos, including the Tijeras Arroyo and Embudo Arroyo. In Mora County, a Flash Flood Emergency was declared, and two people were rescued from a washed-out road. The flood threat persists, with significant rainfall expected to continue through Wednesday, affecting areas such as Roswell, Santa Fe, and Ruidoso.
