Stage 1 flood alert issued for areas west of Houston, Texas
Heavy thunderstorms associated with a slow-moving front have brought significant rainfall to areas west of Houston, Texas. A Stage 1 flood alert has been issued for locations along and west of Highway 59/I-69. Rainfall totals have ranged from 1–2 inches in most areas, but some locations, such as Cypress and Waller, have recorded up to 4 inches. Western Montgomery County has seen even higher totals of 4–6 inches. The storms are expected to weaken by midnight, but additional rainfall of 1–2 inches is possible in some areas.
