Patrick Wilson, CEO of Little League International, Supports Film on Cannon Street All-Stars
Patrick Wilson, CEO of Little League International, has expressed his support for a new feature film titled 'Cannon Street All-Stars.' The film is being developed by Reggie Rock Bythewood and Gina Prince-Bythewood’s Undisputed Cinema, with production involvement from Los Angeles Dodgers’ Mookie Betts and Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry. The movie will tell the story of the first all-Black Little League team from South Carolina, the Cannon Street YMCA All-Stars. This team challenged segregation in Little League baseball in 1955, despite Jackie Robinson integrating Major League Baseball in 1947. The surviving members of the team were recently honored at the Little League World Series, an event Wilson referenced when stating, “We are here today, the program that we are, because of what they did.” Reggie Rock Bythewood will direct and co-write the screenplay, with the support of The Jackie Robinson Foundation.
