Bowdoin College's Hastings Initiative Advances AI Research and Ethical Guidance with $50 Million Funding
Bowdoin College is actively advancing artificial intelligence (AI) research and ethical guidance through its $50 million Hastings Initiative for AI and Humanity. This initiative, funded by Bowdoin alumnus and Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings, aims to explore, understand, and ethically guide the transformative power of AI. Key priorities include hiring ten new faculty members across various academic disciplines, funding faculty research, and supporting teaching and artistic projects involving AI.
