Aira Heat Pump Receives Unofficial Sailfish OS Application for Home Control
A native Sailfish OS application has been developed to control Aira Home heat pumps. This unofficial application allows users to manage various functions of their Aira heat pump, including setting house and room temperatures, controlling domestic hot water, and monitoring plant status such as outdoor/indoor temperature and operating mode. Due to technical limitations with Sailfish’s Qt 5.6, which cannot speak HTTP/2, the application requires a local HTTP bridge running on a Linux machine to communicate with Aira’s HTTP/2-only API. This bridge handles the direct communication with Aira, ensuring user credentials remain on the local machine. The developer is seeking testers to provide feedback on the application's behavior across different pump models and configurations, as well as to identify any discrepancies with the official Aira app. The application currently lacks support for cooling, schedules, curves, and firmware information.
