Libation Software Enables DRM-Free Downloads of Audible Audiobooks
Libation, a software application, allows users to download their Audible audiobooks in a DRM-free format. This process involves downloading the original DRM-protected book and then decrypting it, making the audiobook playable on any device or audio player. The software also supports downloading associated PDF attachments. Users can organize their downloaded files within a specified 'Books' directory, with Libation identifying books by their Audible ID within file or folder names. The application offers both 'Chardonnay' and 'Classic' versions, with Chardonnay providing an updated look across Windows, Mac, and Linux, while Classic is Windows-only and offers better accessibility support. Libation requires users to log into their Audible accounts, sometimes involving CAPTCHA verification or an external login process, to import and scan their library before downloading. The software also provides options to export library data to formats like Excel, CSV, or JSON.
