DEPT®/HELLOMONDAY Launches AI-Powered Platform to Enhance Sign Language Learning Accessibility
DEPT®/HELLOMONDAY, in collaboration with the American Society for Deaf Children and NVIDIA, has developed 'Signs,' an AI-powered platform designed to make learning American Sign Language (ASL) more accessible and inclusive. The platform utilizes computer vision and real-time feedback to transform any camera into an interactive ASL coach. It features a 3D avatar that teaches users, corrects hand positions, and contributes to a growing open-source dataset. The initiative aims to support Deaf children, their families, and allies by providing an intuitive and interactive learning experience. In its first week, without any paid media, 'Signs' reached 20 million people and garnered over 1 billion impressions, with more than 20,000 signs learned within 10 days. The platform currently hosts over 400,000 video clips, fostering a new era of inclusive AI communication tools.
