O-RAN Technology Offers New Solutions for Vehicle-to-Everything Networks
The open radio access network (O-RAN) technology, originally developed for 4G and 5G cellular networks, is being explored as a potential solution for vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications. This approach could address the challenges faced by current V2X systems, which often struggle with signal congestion and lack of standardization. O-RAN's open, programmable architecture allows for better coordination of signals, reducing message collisions and improving network efficiency. Researchers have simulated O-RAN V2X networks, showing promising results in reducing signal interference and enhancing communication between vehicles and infrastructure.
