Kimi K3 Model Introduced as a New Frontier in Open-Source AI
The Kimi K3, a new open-source AI model, has been introduced with 2.8 trillion parameters and advanced capabilities in vision and reasoning tasks. Developed by a large team, Kimi K3 is designed to improve information flow and efficiency over its predecessor, Kimi K2. The model features a mixture-of-experts architecture, allowing it to activate a large number of parameters efficiently. It is capable of handling long-horizon tasks and has been evaluated to perform well in coding, reasoning, and vision tasks, although it still trails behind some proprietary models like GPT-5.6 Sol. The model's weights have been released to facilitate further research and deployment.
