Har Initiative Doubles Down on Combating Antisemitism with $120 Million in New Funding
The Har Initiative, a new donor collective, is intensifying its efforts to combat antisemitism by announcing $120 million in new funding for 11 additional grantees. This comes after the initiative mobilized nearly $75 million from 11 donors to support 15 grantees between 2024 and 2025. Formed in 2024, the Har Initiative was established in response to the perceived ineffectiveness of previous antisemitism initiatives and the surge in antisemitism following the October 7 massacres. Co-chaired by Lindsey Spindle of the Samueli Foundation and Fay Twersky of the Arthur Blank Family Foundation, the initiative focuses on innovative strategies such as building Jewish pride, supporting boycotted initiatives, cultivating cross-cultural partnerships, and educating potential allies. Donors commit a minimum of $10 million over five years of unrestricted funding, allowing grantees flexibility and risk-taking.
