Partnership HealthPlan of California Reports Data Breach Affecting Over 1,500 Members
Partnership HealthPlan of California announced a data breach that exposed the personal information of 1,526 members. The incident occurred between May and July when new member welcome packets were mailed out containing information belonging to other members. The compromised data included names, dates of birth, and member identification numbers. The health plan confirmed that sensitive information such as Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, addresses, treatment details, diagnoses, or financial account information was not involved in the breach. Following the discovery, Partnership HealthPlan notified all affected members as required by law. The company has also implemented enhanced mailing and privacy safeguards, increased oversight of its vendors, provided additional training to its workforce, and reported the incident to relevant regulatory agencies.
