Netflix, Amazon, and YouTube Form New Lobbying Group to Address Streaming Sports Costs and Policies
Netflix, Amazon, and YouTube have established a new Washington D.C.-based lobbying group called the Streaming Access and Choice Alliance (SACA). Announced on Monday, SACA aims to advocate for policies that promote high-quality and high-value entertainment experiences for consumers, particularly concerning live sports. The alliance, led by TechNet, a trade group representing major technology companies, seeks to counter growing political scrutiny over the increasing cost and complexity for Americans to watch sports on streaming services. SACA emphasizes that streaming plays a central role in bringing sports programming to wider, more diverse audiences, offering multi-game viewing options, analytics-focused feeds, and creator-hosted companion shows.
