Supply Shortages Reported on San Diego-Based Navy Carrier in Iran Conflict
The USS Abraham Lincoln, a San Diego-based Navy carrier currently deployed in the Middle East, is experiencing significant supply shortages as it supports air strikes on Iran. Families of the 5,000 crew members report issues such as limited food, lack of hot water, and insufficient basic supplies like toothpaste and soap. The carrier has set a record for the most continuous days at sea, with over 200 days and only two short port calls during its nine-month deployment. Despite these challenges, the Navy's 5th Fleet spokesperson, Cmdr. Joseph Hontz, assures that the ship remains fully capable of meeting its mission requirements.
