Record October Heat Wave Hits California Amid Super El Niño Concerns
California is experiencing an intense heat wave with temperatures soaring up to 20°C above normal for October. Cities like Los Angeles and San Diego are under extreme heat warnings, while heat advisories are in effect for San Francisco and Sacramento. The heat wave, which may extend until 9 October, is among the most severe in Los Angeles' history, according to AccuWeather's HeatWave Counter and Severity Index™. Coastal areas are also unusually warm due to offshore winds and a diminished marine layer. The heat wave coincides with the ongoing Super El Niño, which is influencing global weather patterns.
