Will Fall Colors Wow This Year? Here’s the Forecast
Fall foliage could put on a spectacular show across parts of the US in 2026, with New England, upstate New York and California’s Sierra Nevada among the top spots for vibrant colors. Cooler nights and favorable moisture could help leaves turn brilliantly, while drought, wildfires and tree stress may dull colors across parts of the Rockies, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. Peak foliage is expected from late September through mid-October in many areas, though warm or stressed conditions could shift timing earlier or later.
