California Wildfires Force Thousands to Evacuate Across Multiple Counties
Thirteen wildfires are currently burning across California, with thousands of residents forced to evacuate as conditions remain volatile. According to CAL Fire, two of these fires are fully contained, but others continue to spread rapidly due to dry conditions and strong winds. The affected areas include Santa Barbara, Kern, Ventura, Riverside, San Diego, Merced, Imperial, Los Angeles, and Siskiyou counties. The Sandy Fire in Ventura County has burned 1,698 acres and is only 5% contained, while the Bain Fire in Riverside County has grown to 1,375 acres with 10% containment. Smoke from these fires is impacting air quality across the state, and shelters are under significant pressure as displaced residents seek refuge.
