PG Warns of Imminent Power Shutoffs in Northern California Due to Fire Risk
Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) has issued warnings to residents in several Northern California counties about potential power shutoffs starting Sunday. The decision is driven by forecasts of high winds and dry conditions, which elevate the risk of wildfires. A Red Flag Warning is already in effect for parts of Solano County, the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, and the Central Valley. PG&E has identified specific counties, including Alameda, Colusa, and Contra Costa, where power outages are likely. The utility company has not specified the exact number of customers who might be affected, but it has indicated that the outages will be less widespread compared to previous years.
