Xcel Energy Implements Hybrid Work Model for Operations Work Coordinators
Xcel Energy, a leading energy provider, has adopted a hybrid work model for many of its roles, including Operations Work Coordinators. This model aims to foster collaboration and flexibility, with many positions requiring onsite work three days per week (Tuesday–Thursday), though specific expectations may vary based on the role, team, and business needs. Operations Work Coordinators are responsible for maintaining and coordinating daily work plans to ensure efficient resource utilization, with a strong emphasis on safety, customer satisfaction, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance. Their duties include generating work orders, performing final reviews and closeouts of completed work packets, and ensuring data integrity across operating systems. They also support departments by requesting locates, ordering materials, coordinating with other utilities, and scheduling specialized equipment for daily operations, while also providing backup to other coordinator positions.
