Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) is providing a range of rebates and incentives for residential customers in Maryland to encourage energy-efficient home improvements. These programs, part of the EmPOWER Maryland initiative, cover various upgrades including heat pump water heaters, smart thermostats, and comprehensive home performance enhancements. For instance, customers can receive up to $1,600 for an ENERGY STAR certified heat pump water heater, with an additional 75% of home preparation costs (up to $1,500) if replacing gas, oil, or propane systems. Smart thermostat rebates offer up to $100 per device, with a limit of three per household, and customers can also enroll in the Connected Rewards program for additional prepaid cards.
