Carlisle, Iowa, Continues Under 'Do Not Use Water' Order Following Main Break
The city of Carlisle, Iowa, remains under a 'do not use water' order following a water main break that occurred last Wednesday. Governor Kim Reynolds announced on Facebook that her office and the Iowa Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management are collaborating with county emergency managers and Carlisle city officials to expedite the restoration of water services. Residents are advised not to use tap water for cooking, showering, laundry, or flushing toilets. The Carlisle Community School District has also announced closures for a third consecutive day due to the ongoing water crisis. Residents are resorting to conserving water and utilizing portable water tanks provided by the Carlisle Fire Department for non-potable needs, with no clear timeline for when normal water services will resume.
