Asheville Seeks Community Partner for 2027 Juneteenth Celebration
Asheville, North Carolina, is actively seeking a community production partner to organize and execute its 2027 Juneteenth celebration. Proposals for this role are due by October 30, 2026. The city's objective is to create a family-friendly and educational event that is significantly shaped by Asheville’s Black community. Resident feedback has emphasized the desire for culturally relevant businesses and entrepreneurs, live music, Black history exhibits, storytelling, youth activities, and opportunities for intergenerational participation. All core celebration events must be free and open to the public, with city cash funding primarily supporting programming within the Downtown Business Improvement District.
