U.S. Congressional Delegation Meets with Uzbek President to Strengthen Strategic Partnership
A bipartisan U.S. congressional delegation, including Congressmen Jason Smith (R-MO), Greg Murphy (R-NC), Ronny Jackson (R-TX), and Edward Case (D-HI), met with Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Tashkent. The meeting focused on enhancing the strategic partnership between the two nations, deepening inter-parliamentary cooperation, and expanding trade and economic ties. The U.S. lawmakers congratulated Uzbekistan on its upcoming 35th anniversary of independence. Discussions highlighted the positive trajectory of bilateral relations, the high level of political dialogue, and the increasing frequency of contacts and mutual visits. Both sides acknowledged the implementation of a three-year Economic Cooperation Program, which includes significant projects in energy, critical minerals, transport, agriculture, digital technologies, and industry. Bilateral trade has reportedly grown by 20 percent since the beginning of the year.
