Residents in Ogden, North Carolina, are expressing concerns after heavy rainfall on Sunday night caused significant flooding and worsened damage to a collapsed cut-through road connecting the Ogden and Murrayville communities. The area received approximately 8 inches (203 mm) of rain, turning a small creek into a 'raging river,' according to local resident Witchek. The cut-through had already collapsed two weeks earlier during a storm on August 21, and the recent rainfall has exacerbated the situation. The creek, designated as a 100-year flood zone, has been a recurring source of flooding issues for nearby homes, with water levels rising dangerously close to some foundations.
