Boise Opens New Path II, Expanding Permanent Supportive Housing for Homeless Individuals
Boise city leaders have officially opened New Path II, a new permanent supportive housing development featuring 95 apartments designed for individuals transitioning out of homelessness. This initiative pairs stable housing with comprehensive on-site services, including physical and mental health support and case management, provided by Terry Reilly Health Services. The goal is to foster long-term stability for residents, allowing them to pay rent with housing vouchers and eventually move into other affordable housing options when ready. The city contributed $5.5 million in federal American Rescue Plan Act funding towards the development of New Path II. This project builds upon the success of the original New Path development, which a Boise State University study indicated generated $11 million in savings and offset costs over six years. Approximately 20 residents have already moved into the new facility.
