Monsoon Storms Cause Significant Damage in Glendale and West Valley
A powerful monsoon storm with winds reaching up to 80 mph hit Glendale and other West Valley cities, causing extensive damage. The storm knocked out power to tens of thousands of residents, collapsed carports, and uprooted trees. In Avondale, high winds sent large metal culvert pipes from a construction site into a residential area.
