Flood Watch Issued for Navajo Nation Amid Heavy Rain Threat

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for northern and central Arizona, including the Navajo Nation, from Sunday evening, 27 September, through Tuesday evening, 29 September. Heavy rainfall driven by tropical moisture from hurricanes Odalys and Polo, combined with a low-pressure system, is expected to bring 1 to 3 inches of rain, with isolated areas receiving up to 6 inches. Communities such as Window Rock, Fort Defiance, Chinle, and others are under the watch. The storm follows recent flooding that caused significant damage to roads and infrastructure, and claimed three lives in the Two Grey Hills area earlier this month.
