Mesa Police Officers Involved in Shooting Incident in Chandler
Mesa Police Department officers were involved in a shooting incident near South McQueen Road and East Frye Road in Chandler, Arizona. The incident occurred on Tuesday night as officers were attempting to make an arrest related to a domestic violence case that originated in Mesa earlier in the week. According to police, the suspect, an unidentified man, initially refused to comply with commands to exit his home. At one point, the man was seen with a rifle, leading to an officer-involved shooting. Following the shooting, the man barricaded himself inside the residence. Authorities subsequently used less-lethal tools to compel him to exit, after which he was taken into custody and transported to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The scene remained active, and the public was advised to avoid the area. This marks the second officer-involved shooting for the Mesa Police Department within a two-day period.
