Heat Wave Affects 42 Million in the U.S. with Record Temperatures
A severe heat wave is impacting large parts of the United States, with over 42 million people under heat alerts. Temperatures have soared above 100°F in many areas, with a record high of 119°F recorded near Tecopa, California. The heat dome responsible for these extreme temperatures has shifted westward, affecting the Southwest and parts of the Intermountain West. The National Weather Service has issued warnings for several states, including Arizona, California, Nevada, and Utah, where temperatures are expected to remain dangerously high through the weekend.
