Extreme Heat Warnings Issued for Major U.S. Cities Amidst Wildfire Risks
The National Weather Service has issued extreme heat warnings for several major U.S. cities, including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Tucson, and Salt Lake City. These warnings come as temperatures are expected to reach triple digits, posing health risks to millions. Concurrently, a fast-moving wildfire in Spokane County, Washington, has consumed over 5,000 acres, prompting evacuations. Red flag warnings for increased fire risk are in place across parts of the Northwest, including Montana, Utah, and the Dakotas. The combination of high temperatures, dry conditions, and gusty winds is exacerbating fire dangers in these regions.
