Extreme Heat Warning in Effect for Phoenix Area Through Sunday
The Phoenix area is under an Extreme Heat Warning until Sunday night, with temperatures expected to climb significantly over the coming days. According to AZFamily, highs will reach 111°F (43.9°C) today, increasing to 114°F (45.6°C) on Thursday and peaking at 116°F (46.7°C) from Friday through Sunday. These temperatures are well above seasonal norms and are expected to set daily records over the weekend. Morning lows will remain dangerously high in the low 90s°F (32-34°C). While storm chances are minimal due to drier air, scattered activity may occur in northern and eastern Arizona. Relief from the heat may arrive midweek if storm chances increase.
